Things to do in Sitka
With the fall/winter season coming up, the enjoyable outdoor activity that is available during the summer is starting to slow down as the days get shorter, colder, and wetter. Aside from some classes at the Hames Center and Trivia night at the bayview, is there anything else going on this fall to do on a weekly basis? For a mid-20s single male with alot of time on his hands, what there to do? Are there any adult sports leagues, weekly events, dancing, groups, or just anything to do? Any suggestions would be great thank you...I dont know how i will make it through this cold/wet/dark winter without anything to do.
Thanks
Thanks

The Monthly Grind isn't weekly, but is very good times.
There are several major musical, theatrical, or other performance events per month, but those are also not things that happen on a weekly basis.
You could get involved with Raven Radio - they're always looking for people with new ideas for shows.
Beyond those, it depends on what you can do and like to do. Are you skilled and well-equipped for outdoor work? Sitka Mountain Rescue meets weekly and needs people. Are you a musician? If you try even a little bit, there will be people who will want to work with you. Do you hunt? Someone may be looking for a partner.
Instead of asking what there is, why don't you say what you like to do and see if someone else is interested in doing the same (or if someone else is already doing it!).

Generally the last Saturday of each month in the winter there is a group that gets together for Contra dancing. Look in the newspaper for dates posted, its usually held at Blatchley middle school (so maybe contact community schools) around 7pm.
